Our Team and Engagement Strategy

NHS services cannot be designed and delivered without ongoing and meaningful contributions by the very people that own and use those services – our local communities. Engagement can take several forms, from sharing information and getting feedback about the use of health services, to consulting people about changes affecting specific areas, designing, implementation and monitoring services.

County Durham CCG is committed to engagement being at the heart of its work by aiming to establish positive and constructive relationships with patients and carers, communities, including the CCG workforce, GP practices and other clinical partners.

Included below are some examples of the methods and key audiences that the CCG includes within its engagement activities.

If you would like to know more about commissioning in the NHS, our events are also a great way to learn about and understand what we do.

Our Engagement Team

I am passionate about patients being involved in everything we do.

Feisal Jassat: Lay Member for Patient and Public Involvement

Our Engagement Strategy

Our Engagement Strategy was developed by the engagement team in partnership with some of our stakeholders to ensure that it had clear objectives that were appropriate for all areas of the community. These partners included Patient Reference Group Chairs, Investing in Children, Healthwatch and East Durham Trust Health Network (on behalf of all three locality Health Networks)

Engagement Activities and Reports

Engagement Activities are taking place on a daily basis with patients, partners and stakeholders. The CCG engagement team reports this activity to the Governing Body on a quarterly basis. Our reports will appear here.
